IMLAY CITY — Imlay City registered a 48-45 triumph against visiting Cros-Lex in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys' basketball confrontation on Tuesday, January 6.

With the outcome, Imlay City moves to 3-1 overall and 1-0 as far as BWAC clashes are concerned. Cros-Lex drops to 4-1 this season, including a 0-1 league standing.

In Tuesday's confrontation, Cros-Lex built a 14-10 edge after one quarter was complete.

Quarter number two would see Cros-Lex double its lead.

It was there Cros-Lex netted 12 points, while allowing Imlay City eight.

That staked Cros-Lex to a 26-18 advantage at the halftime break.

When the action resumed, Imlay City bounced back with an 11-10 third quarter edge.

That made it 36-29, Cros-Lex, at the 24-minute mark.

Imlay City then outscored Cros-Lex 19-9 from that point on, aided by a 14-7 advantage at the foul-line to pull out a narrow victory.

Adam Van Dyk (11 points, including one field goal attempt of the three-point variety) paced Imlay City that evening. The Spartans also received points courtesy of Darren Saunders (10), Steve Lesniak (seven), Aaron Thompson (six), Eric Ebert (five), Blaine Goertler and Alex Maldonado (four each) along with Brad Kramek (one).
