TRI-CITY AREA — Government entities won't be the only ones to benefit from an infrastructure stimulus plan. The outpouring of billions of dollars would also mean jobs and in Michigan, that's an equally bright prospect.

Unemployment numbers from November 2008 show Lapeer County carries a 10.5 percent rate and St. Clair County stands at 11.8 percent, according to the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth.

The state's unemployment rate for November 2008 was 9.1 percent.

As part of the 1,200 proposed infrastructure projects worth $3.33 million that the Michigan Municipal League will present to state and federal officials, they estimate thousands of jobs would be created upon approval.
