Capac grapplers now 14-2 early in season

CAPAC — The Capac wrestling team handed Frankenmuth a 51-30 setback and made Memphis absorb a 78-6 loss in non-league action last Wednesday at Yale High School.

A group consisting of Gideon Gaiter, Joshua Kaiser, Brandon Schalm, Aaron Smith, Thomas Bolday, Shawn Kaiser and Pat White led Capac with wins by pin against Frankenmuth. Gaiter took 2:53 to stop Mitch Wiles at 119 pounds; Joshua Kaiser needed 36 seconds to turn back 125-pound foe T.J. Frahm; Schalm required 3:15 to beat Quin Hoffman at 130 pounds; Smith took 5:24 to defeat 152-pound counterpart Pat Corry; Bolday needed 1:26 to upend Bart Didluck at 171 pounds; Shawn Kaiser required 2:59 to down 215-pound adversary Kyle Quirin; and White took 2:15 to beat Niklas Babachen at 285 pounds.

Brian Kulman provided Capac with a victory by technical fall, registering a 15-0 triumph versus 140-pound rival Ryan Stainforth.

Matt Schuman was the other Capac grappler who prevailed, claiming a 14-0 win against Joshua Chiesea at 103 pounds.

Pitted against Memphis, Capac got wins via the pinfall route courtesy of Gaiter, Joshua Tucker and Shawn Kaiser. Gaiter needed 1:50 to conquer 119-pound counterpart Ryan Gamalski; Tucker required 4:36 to beat Sean Lemerise at 145 pounds; and Shawn Kaiser took 1:32 to stop 215-pound adversary Dan Gamalski.

Schuman (103), Cody Neuman (112), Joshua Kaiser (125), Schalm (130), Mike Parks (135), Kulman (140), Smith (152), Andrew McDunnah (160), Bolday (171) and White (285) added victories by void to Capac's cause.

With the results, Capac now stands at 14-2 overall.
