December 10, 2008 CAPAC — Capac fell seven points short when the final buzzer sounded, dropping a 43-36 road verdict to Peck in a non-league varsity girls' basketball encounter on Tuesday, December 2.
It was the season-opener for both combatants.
In Tuesday's encounter, Capac grabbed a 10-8 edge after one quarter was complete.
Quarter number two saw Peck collect 10 points and Capac manage nine.
That left Capac holding a 19-18 edge at the halftime break.
When the action resumed, Peck struck with a 16-8 third quarter advantage.
That made it 34-27, Peck, at the 24-minute mark.
Peck and Capac then hit for nine points each during the last quarter of play, leaving the former with a 43-36 win to celebrate when the final buzzer sounded.
For Capac, Taylor Sinda led the way with 16 points. The remaining Chief points went to Jennica Polzin (eight), Gabby Sabatino and Courtney Baldwin (four each) along with Gianna Sabatino and Ashley Mousseau (two apiece).
Sinda and Mousseau posted Capac's top rebounding outputs that evening. They pulled down six and five missed shots, respectively.
Polzin and Sinda added five steals each to Capac's cause.
