Here are a few more favorite recipes from staff members of the Tri-City Times:

Pizza Dip

2-8 oz. cream cheese

1 jar pizza sauce

2 cups mozzarella cheese

1 cup parmesean cheese

1 tbsp. Italian seasoning

Spread cream cheese on the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan. Pour pizza sauce over it. Sprinkle cheese over sauce. Sprinkle seasoning over cheese. Heat oven to 350. Cook for 15-20 minutes. Serve with crackers, chips or bread.

Chocolate Cherry Cake

2 cups flour

3/4 cup white sugar

3/4 cup vegetable oil

2 eggs

2 tsp. vanilla

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp cinnamon

dash of salt

1 can cherry pie filling

1 pkg chocolate chips

1 cup chopped nuts

Bake one hour at 350. Sprinkle top with confectioner's sugar.

Oreo Candy Cane Bark

3 pkg. (6 oz. each) white baking chocolate

15 Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies coarsely chopped (about two cups)

3 candy canes, crushed (about 1/4 cup)

Cover large baking sheet with foil; set aside. Microwave chocolate in large microwaveable bowl on high 2 min. or until almost melted. Stir in chopped cookies. Spread immediately onto prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with crushed candy canes; press candy lightly into chocolate with back of spoon. Refrigerate four hours or until firm. Break into pieces. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

Squash and apple bake

1 large butternut or buttercup squash, peeled and diced

4 large apples, peeled and sliced

Layer half of squash into buttered 9x13 dish followed by half of the apples. Sprinkle with 1/2 c. sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon and layer the remainder of squash and apples.

Top with a mixture of 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. flour, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/2 c. butter.

Bake covered at 350 for one hour and uncovered for an additional 10 minutes to brown top.

Stained Glass Windows

1 - 12 oz. chocolate chips or

1 - 6 oz. chocolate chips & 1 - 6 oz. butterscotch chips

1/4 lb. oleo (one stick)

1 cup nut meats

1 pkg. small marshmallows (colored are best)

Coconut

Melt together in pan. Cool. Add 1 cup nut meats and 1 pkg. small marshmallows. Mix. Form 2 logs. Sprinkle with coconut. Wrap in wax paper until set. Slice.

Carrot cake

4 eggs

3 c. shredded carrots

2 c. flour

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. cinnamon

1-1/2 c. (little less) vegetable oil

Beat eggs, add sugar and carrots, mix well. Blend flour, salt, soda and cinnamon. Mix well. Add oil, mix well. Bake in lightly greased pans (2 square cake pans) at 350 for 25-35 mins.

Frosting

Cream together 8 oz. cream cheese, room temp. and 1 stick butter, room temp.

Add 2 cups shopped walnuts, 3/4 box of powdered sugar and 2 tsp vanilla.

Cheese Cake

1 tub Cool Whip

1 block cream cheese

1/2 cup sugar

1 graham cracker pie crust

Blend sugar and cream cheese together until creamy. Then fold in Cool Whip. Pour into Graham Cracker crust. Chill until firm about 1 to 2 hours.
