CAPAC — Capac overcame a one-game deficit to claim a 12-25, 26-24, 25-15, 18-25, 15-5 win against Dryden in a non-conference varsity volleyball matchup last Wednesday evening.
The contest took 125 minutes to determine a victor.
With the decision, Capac bumps its mark to 2-3-3 overall.
Ashley Mousseau led Capac with four aces. The remaining Chief aces went to Charlotte Clark (three), Megan Beischer, Sabrina Connell, Sam Smith, Abby Aguinaga (two each) along with Nicole Gilbert (one).
Alexis Folan and Gilbert took turns springing Capac's offense into motion. They managed 15 and nine assists, respectively.
Laura Pewinski and Mousseau (seven kills apiece) proved Capac's most lethal net weapon. She was given assistance in the hitting department by Sam Smith (six kills), Taylor Sinda (five), Taylor Smith, Folan and Clark (three each), Aguinaga (two) along with Katelyn Kain, Beischer and Connell (one apiece).
Clark and Aguinaga paced the Capac defense with 11 digs each. They were backed by Beischer (eight digs), Connell (five) and Cassie Spencer (two).
Sam Smith and Sinda (three apiece) notched Capac's solo block outputs. Gilbert and Clark added two blocks each to the Chiefs' cause.
