August 20, 2008
ALMONT — Breeanna Streber, a graduate of Almont High School, is back for her second season with the Saginaw Valley State Univer-sity women's tennis team this school year.

She will have a shot at moving up in the team's lineup.

As a freshman, Streber (who expected to be redshirted) posted a 1-3 mark for Saginaw Valley State Univer-sity at the sixth singles position.

Her best outing of her debut campaign came on March 5 when she rolled to a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Miserocordia University's Sam Scaldong.

That day Saginaw Valley State University claimed a 9-0 win.

Streber was named her team's recipient of the Iron Woman Award at the season-ending awards banquet.

Saginaw Valley State University, which went 7-12 overall and 2-6 versus conference adversaries a year ago, starts their season September 5 when it travels to Grand Valley State University for a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference encounter. That matchup lists a 3 p.m. starting time.
