New supervisors elected in Almont, Berlin townships

TRI-CITY AREA — There were a few surprises in local township elections, where current supervisors in Almont and Berlin townships were unseated.

Paul Bowman edged out Gary Groesbeck for the Almont Township Supervisor's seat, garnering 487 votes to Groesbeck's 343.

Trustees Randy Eschenburg, Thomas Moore, Scott Stroup and Dennis Sweers will keep their posts.

Carol Hoffner was re-elected as clerk with 501 votes. Challenger Bonnie Krauss received 322 votes.

In Berlin Township, Supervisor Koleen McVeigh lost her bid for re-election to Bill Winn. Winn got 251 votes to McVeigh's 207.

Trustees Bob Christian and Mark Wittstock will retain their seats.

In Mussey Township, voters re-elected Supervisor Mike Lauwers, however official numbers were not available as of this posting.
