July 16, 2008

The competition unfolded at the Arthur Hills-designed Highlands Meadows Golf Course.

Lauren Bone sends a putt to the hole as LPGA pro Irene Cho looks on during a Junior Pro Am Tournament last week in Toledo.

She was paired with Irene Cho, a second-year LPGA member.

Junior players Camille Walters, Ashley Skibski and Emily Skibski, who will be teammates at Monroe St. Mary's Catholic Central, also played alongside Bone that day.

It marked the second straight year that Lauren has participated in the event. She teamed up with LPGA pro Anne Marie Pauli plus Camille Walters, Ashley Skibski and Kayla Groves, all of whom were teammates at Monroe St. Mary's Catholic Central, to acquire a fourth that day.

This time around Lauren's team placed fourth again, aided by an output of 9-under par. That left them one stroke out of third place.

The team started out on fire, going 5-under for the first six holes that day.

Her father, Mark Bone, said his daughter was more at ease playing in the event this year. He pointed to the fact that there were two players who had teamed up with her in 2007 as reasons why.

"The girls had a great time with Irene," Mark Bone said. "She was young, energetic and related well with the girls," he noted.

"There was a lot of golf talk, girl talk and kidding around. They had a great time."
