TRI-CITY AREA — From start to finish, these athletes set themselves apart from the rest.

Here is a look at who made the 2008 edition of The Tri-City Times All-Area girls' track lineup and the credentials they generated en route:

Name: Krissy Swejkow-ski

School: Imlay City

Year: Senior

Event: High jump

Best effort: Swejkowski cleared 5 feet 3 inches en route to a two-way tie for fourth at a Division 2 regional hosted by Algonac High School on Tuesday, May 16. Her performance ther proved good enough to advance to the state meet height-wise.

Top finishes: She teamed up with Josefine Egholm and Taelor Webb to claim a high jump relay second at The Tri-City Times Capac Relays; supplied a two-way tie for a fourth at an Algonac High School-based Division 2 regional; generated a three-way tie for a fourth at the Thumb Meet of Champions hosted by Caro High School; pulled up sixth at the Yale High School-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; plus provided an eighth at the Hatchet Invitational hosted by Bad Axe High School.

Other credentials: Swejkowski also earned the right to compete in the event at the East China Stadium-based O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions and the Division 2 state finals hosted by Zeeland Schools.

Name: Danielle Nieman

School: Capac

Year: Junior

Event: Pole vault

Best effort: Nieman soared over the bar at a height of 7 feet 9 inches Thursday, May 22 at the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions.

East China Stadium, in East China Township, is where the action unfolded.

Top finishes: Nieman joined forces with Sarah Burgess, Tyler Sawicki and Brian Kulman to win the pole vault relay at the Almont Coed Relays; teamed up with Misty Beuschlein and Burgess to rank second in the pole vault relay at the Tri-City Times Capac Relays; plus furnished a two-way tie for a third at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet hosted by Yale High School.

Other credentials: She also competed in the event at the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions.

East China Stadium, in East China Township, is where the action unfolded.

Name: Chelsea Bijansky

School: Almont

Year: Senior

Event: Pole vault

Best effort: Bijansky cleared 7 feet 8 inches en route to a first at a Division 3 regional hosted by New Haven High School on Saturday, May 17.

Top finishes: She fended off all challengers at a New Haven High School-based Division 3 regional; teamed up with Ellen Glinski, Kyle Podolan and Travis Zelkow-ski for a pole vault relay second at the Almont Coed Relays; plus added a fifth at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet hosted by Yale High School.

Other credentials: Bijansky also earned the right to compete in the event at the East China Stadium-based O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions and the Division 3 state finals hosted by Comstock Park High School.

Name: Chelsea Bijansky

School: Almont

Year: Senior

Event: Long jump

Best effort: Bijansky went 14 feet 11 1/2 inches.

Top finishes: She joined forces with Amanda Butler, Sean Cooper and Ryan Beehler to obtain a long jump relay third at the Almont Coed Relays; teamed up with Samantha Zichichi and Ally Matthews for a long jump relay sixth at the Tri-City Times Capac Relays; plus added an eighth at a Division 3 regional hosted by New Haven High School.

Other credentials: Bijansky also earned the right to participate in the event at the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions.

That meet was contested at East China Stadium.

Name: Brandy Bly

School: Capac

Year: Senior

Event: Shot put

Best effort: Bly uncorked a toss measuring 29 feet 5 inches for first during a Blue Water Area Conference dual meet with visiting Cros-Lex on Tuesday, May 6.

Top finishes: She combined with Chelsea Stoddard, Tino Siewert and Shaun Kaiser for a shot put relay second at the Almont Coed Relays; took third at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet hosted by Yale High School; plus teamed up with Nina Ware and Stoddard for a shot put relay fifth at the Tri-City Times Capac Relays.

Other credentials: Bly also earned the right to compete in the event at the East China Stadium-based O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions.

Name: Brandy Bly

School: Capac

Year: Senior

Event: Discus

Best effort: Bly threw 92 feet 7 inches to register a third Saturday, May 10 at the Hatchet Invitational hosted by Bad Axe High School.

Top finishes: She teamed up with Chelsea Stoddard, Tino Siewert and Shaun Kaiser for a discus relay second at the Almont Coed Relays; garnered a third at Bad Axe High School-based Hatcher Invitational; joined forces with Nina Ware and Stoddard for a discus relay fourth at the Tri-City Times Capac Relays; plus acquired a fifth at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet hosted by Yale High School.

Other credentials: Bly also earned the right to compete in the event at the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions.

That meet was contested at East China Stadium in East China Township.

Name: Alizabeth Cald-well

School: Imlay City

Year: Senior

Event: 100-meter dash

Best effort: Caldwell raced to a pacesetting time of 13.1 seconds during a Blue Water Area Conference dual meet versus host Capac on Tuesday, May 13.

Top finishes: She pulled up third at the Yale High School-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet.

Other credentials: Cald-well also earned the right to participate in the event at the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions.

East China Stadium, in East China Township, is where the action unfolded.

Name: Marissa Moore

School: Capac

Year: Senior

Event: 100-meter dash

Best effort: Moore logged a clocking of 13.19 seconds for first Thursday, May 8 in a double dual meet versus Blue Water Area Conference rivals Armada and host Richmond.

Top finishes: She generated a fifth at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet hosted by Yale High School and added a sixth at the Bad Axe High School-based Hatchet Invitational.

Other credentials: Moore also earned the right to compete in the event at the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions.

That meet was contested at East China Stadium in East China Township.

Name: Scotti Langley

School: Almont

Year: Sophomore

Event: 100-meter hurdles

Best effort: Langley supplied a time of 18.55 seconds for second in a Blue Water Area Conference dual meet versus visiting Richmond on Tuesday, May 6.

Top finishes: She teamed up with Chelsea Bijansky, Sean Cooper and Mike Owen for a shuttle hurdle relay third at the Almont Coed Relays.

Name: Marissa Moore

School: Capac

Year: Senior

Event: 200-meter dash

Best effort: Moore registered a clocking of 27.46 seconds en route to first in a double dual meet versus Blue Water Area Conference counterparts Armada and host Richmond on Thursday, May 8.

Top finishes: She took fourth at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet hosted by Yale High School; ranked fifth at the East China Stadium-based O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions; plus collected sixths at the Hatchet Invitational hosted by Bad Axe High School; a Bad Axe High School-based Division 3 regional and at the Thumb Meet of Champions hosted by Caro High School.

Name: Michelle Marcial

School: Imlay City

Year: Freshman

Event: 300-meter hurdles

Best effort: Marcial managed a season's best time of 52.46 seconds.

Other credentials: She also earned the right to compete in the event at the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions.

That meet was contested at East China Stadium in East China Township.

Name: Danielle Nieman

School: Capac

Year: Junior

Event: 400-meter dash

Best efffort: Nieman furnished a clocking of 1:05.15 seconds en route to fifth at the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions on Thursday, May 22.

Top finishes: She collected a fifth at the East China Stadium-based O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions.

Name: Melissa Sawicki

School: Capac

Year: Senior

Event: 800-meter run

Best effort: Sawicki raced to a swift time of 2:28.37 for fourth Thursday, May 22 at the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions.

That meet was contested at East China Stadium in East China Township.

Top finishes: Sawicki claimed the distinction of race pacesetter at a Division 3 regional hosted by Bad Axe High School; registered a third at the Yale High School-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; collected a fourth at the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions at East China Stadium in East China Township; generated a sixth at the Bad Axe High School-based Hatchet Invitational; plus added an eighth* at the Thumb Meet of Champions in Caro.

Other credentials: She also earned the right to participate in the event at the Division 3 state finals hosted by Comstock Park High School.

Name: Melissa Sawicki

School: Capac

Year: Senior

Event: 1600-meter run

Best effort: Sawicki supplied a school record-setting clocking of 5:21.64 en route to a third at the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions on Thursday, May 22.

Top finishes: Sawicki earned the distinction of race pacesetter at a Bad Axe High School-based Division 3 regional; collected thirds at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet hosted by Yale High School, the Bad Axe High School-based Hatchet Invitational, the Thumb Meet of Champ-ions hosted by Caro High School, and the East China Stadium-based O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions.

Other credentials: She also earned the right to compete in the event at the Division 3 state finals hosted by Comstock Park High School.

Name: Mandy Lacer-tosa

School: Imlay City

Year: Sophomore

Event: 3200-meter run

Best effort: Lacertosa notched a time of 11:46.41 for second Thursday, May 22 at the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions.

East China Stadium, in East China Township, is where the action unfolded.

Top finishes: Lacertosa claimed seconds at a Hatchet Invitational hosted by Bad Axe High School, the Yale High School-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet and the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions contested at East China Stadium; generated a third at an Algonac High School-based Division 2 regional (where her 11:50.56 was quick enough to advance to the state meet time-wise).

Other credentials: She also earned the right to participate in the event at the Caro High School-based Thumb Meet of Champions and the Division 2 state finals hosted by Zeeland Schools.

Best effort: The quartet stopped the watch at 52.56 seconds en route to a second at the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions on Thursday, May 22.

Top finishes: A team consisting of Webb, Hummel, Caldwell and Swejkowski pulled up first at the Yale High School-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; a lineup including Taylor Lee, Webb, Caldwell and Hummel set the pace at The Tri-City Times Capac Relays; a team consisting of Webb, Hummel, Caldwell and Swejkowski took second at the East China Stadium-based O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions; plus a squad of Webb, Hummel, Caldwell and Swejkowski provided thirds at Hatchet Invitational hosted by Bad Axe High School and the Caro High School-based Thumb Meet of Champions.

Best effort: Imlay City's team logged a clocking of 1:51.06 for second Thursday, May 22 at the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions.

Top finishes: A lineup consisting of Taylor Lee, Webb, Caldwell and Swjekowski took first at The Tri-City Times Capac Relays; a team of Webb, Hummel, Caldwell and Swejkowski claimed seconds at the Bad Axe High School-based Hatchet Invitational, the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet hosted by Yale and at the East China Stadium-based O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions.

Other credentials: Imlay City also earned the right to compete in the event at The Thumb Meet of Champions hosted by Caro High School.

Team: Taelor Webb, Alizabeth Caldwell, Becky Hummel and Krissy Swejkowski.

Years: Sophomore, senior, senior and senior.

Event: 1600-meter relay

Best effort: The quartet stopped the watch at 4:17.7 en route to a second at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet on Tuesday, May 20.

Yale High School is where the action unfolded.

Top finishes: A team consisting of Taylor Lee, Webb, Caldwell and Swejkowski ranked first at The Tri-City Times Capac Relays; a lineup featuring Webb, Caldwell, Hummel and Swejkowski took seconds at the Yale High School-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet and Thumb Meet of Champions hosted by Caro High School; a squad consisting of Webb, Caldwell, Hummel and Swejkowski collected a third at the Bad Axe High School-based Hatchet Invitational; plus a lineup consisting of of Webb, Caldwell, Hummel and Swejkowski generated fourths at an Algonac High School-based Division 2 regional and at the O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions contested at East China Stadium.

Best effort: A team consisting of Melissa Sawicki, Nieman, Weber and Moore collected a second at a Division 3 regional hosted by Bad Axe High School; a lineup of Nieman, Weber, Tyler Sawicki and Kevin Bollaert obtained a second at the Almont Coed Relays; a team consisting of Melissa Sawicki, Nieman, Weber and Moore ranked third at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet hosted by Yale High School; a lineup consisting of Melissa Sawicki, Brandy Bly, Nieman and Moore managed a sixth at the Bad Axe High School-based Hatchet Invitational; plus the team of Melissa Sawicki, Nieman, Weber and Moore took 15th in the event at the Division 3 state finals hosted by Comstock Park High School.

Team: Ellen Glinski, Scotti Langley, Marie Burkland and Lauren Deneweth.

School: Almont

Years: Senior, sophomore, junior and junior.

Event: 3200-meter relay

Best effort: The quartet stopped the watch with a school record of 10:11.13 en route to a 12th, smashing the previous standard of 10:15.64 they set at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet earlier this season, Saturday, May 31 at the Division 3 state finals.

Comstock Park High School is where the action unfolded.

Top finishes: A team consisting of Deneweth, Burk-land, Ryan Beehler and Cody Corbin set the pace at the Almont Coed Relays; a lineup of Glinski, Langley, Deneweth and Burkland claimed seconds at The Tri-City Times Capac Relays and at a Division 3 regional hosted by New Haven High School; a team consisting of Jolie Wycinski, Deneweth, Langley and Burkland ranked third at the Brown City Invitational; a lineup of Glinski, Langley, Deneweth and Burkland took third at the Yale High School-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; plus a team of Glinski, Langley, Deneweth and Burkland obtained a fifth at the East China Stadium-based O'Connor Realty Meet of Champions.
