IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City varsity baseball team outscored their opposition by a combined 10-4 count en route to a first-place finish last Saturday at a Division 2 district hosted by Yale High School.
Imlay City started their successful day on the diamond with a 7-2 semifinal win at Yale's expense.
Justin Pitt was Imlay City's pitcher of record. He allowed five hits over six innings, struck out eight and walked six along the way.
Devon Wiegers (three singles, two runs and one RBI), Blaine Goertler (two singles, two runs and one RBI), Ryan Baker (a single, a run and three RBI), Justin Pitt (a single and a run), Kevin Ahrens and Steve Lesniak (a hit apiece) along with Eric Harbin (a run and one RBI) all contributed to Imlay City's offensive attack.
