Capac chief to speak to media today

PORT HURON — Capac Police Chief Raymond Hawks will speak to reporters today from his hospital room where he is recovering from gunshot wounds.

Hawks was shot on April 16 by suspect Donald Burke, 50, outside of Burke's William G. Drive home. Tim O'Boyle, a St. Clair County Sheriff's deputy, was also grazed in the head by a bullet.

On Tuesday, Burke was bound over for trial in circuit court on multiple counts related to the shooting. Details are in today's story below.

Hawks, who was in a coma for 17 days, is undergoing physical therapy and continues to make progress.
