Armada stuns Imlay in BWAC action, 6-2

IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City varsity baseball team fell by a 6-2 count to visiting Armada in a Blue Water Area Conference battle Monday afternoon.

With the final, Imlay City slips to 16-7 overall and 11-2 as far as league confrontations are concerned.

In Monday's battle, Armada jumped out to a 1-0 lead after one inning was complete.

Inning number two was scoreless.

The third inning saw Armada plate one run, while allowing none.

That staked Armada to a 2-0 cushion at the time.

Imlay City then bounced back with a 2-0 fourth inning edge, squaring the scoreboard count at two runs apiece.

Armada countered with a four-run fifth inning, grabbing a 6-2 lead.

The final two innings were scoreless, leaving Armada with a road win to celebrate when the final out was registered.

Blaine Goertler led Imlay City with two singles. Their remaining hits, all singles, went to Eric Harbin, Devon Wiegers, Ryan Pitt, John Aversano and Adam Van Dyk.
