ALMONT — Almont (no. 6, Division 4) dropped a narrow 5-3 verdict to visiting Flint Powers (no. 7., Division 4) in a non-league girls' tennis confrontation last Thursday afternoon.
With the result, Almont slips to 5-1 overall.
In individual action, Bobbi Enos fell by a 1-6, 1-6 first flight count to Megan Teunis; Michelle Fox picked up a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 win against Christina David at second singles; Claire Turvill dropped a 6-4, 3-6, 5-7 third flight verdict to Danielle Mikhail; and Jaime Ligon fell by a 6-7 (2-7), 0-6 count to Missy Wang at fourth singles.
As far as doubles play was concerned, Lindsey Yaklin and Chanahl Putnam earned a 6-4, 6-2 top flight triumph against Ali Rusetzke and Paige Sedgewick; Kristin Brinker and Melissa Wilber dropped a 4-6, 6-7 (4-7) verdict to Abby Hagon and Meredith Witt at second doubles; Laurie Yaklin and Brooke Streber claimed a 6-1, 6-2 third flight win over Nicole Paggagi and Gleni Giannakouloupolis; plus Holly Hanson and Sierra Grant fell by a 4-6, 3-6 count to Kaitlin Mansour and Shannon McDanough at fourth doubles.
