PORT HURON — Donald Burke was arrainged today (April 24) on three charges of attempted murder related to the April 16 shooting outside of his William G. Drive home in Capac.
Chief Raymond Hawks and St. Clair County Sheriff's Deputy were injured in the incident. Shots were also fired at Mike Thorpe's tow truck but he was not injured.
According to court documents, a defense attorney has not yet been named. Burke stood mute to the charges and is being held on a $3 million bond.
Hawks remains in serious condition in Port Huron Hospital. O'Boyle was treated and released on the day of the shooting.
Burke fled the scene immediately after the 2:15 p.m. altercation and was found about 12 hours later, hiding in a Pirrone Produce truck. His arraignment was delayed after he experienced chest discomfort and underwent a heart-related procedure last week.
