DRYDEN — Dryden swept host Owen-Gage, 12-10 and 5-4, in a North Central Thumb League varsity baseball doubleheader on Monday, April 14.

In the opener, Dryden collected 11 basehits. Nathan Forrest (a pair of doubles), Evan Crean (a single and a double), Mike Lavalla (a double) along with Jeff Chisholm, Tom Ferrett, Nick Dunnigan, Cody Paupert, Frank Calabro and Wes Jonik (a single each) made that output possible.

Ferrett (one hit allowed, five strikeouts and two walks in three-and-a-half innings of work), Cory Clark (three walks in one inning), and Dunnigan (one hit allowed, two strikeouts and three walks in one-and-half innings of work) shared the pitching chores for Dryden.

In the nightcap, Ferrett threw a six-hitter over six innings. His effort included 12 strikeouts and two walks.

From an offensive standpoint, Chisholm and Ferrett (a single and a double each) paced Dryden. Crean (a pair of singles) and Forrest (a single) supported their performances.

Three days later, Dryden split a doubleheader with visiting league rival Memphis.

In the opener, an 11-2 loss, Dryden was led by Ferrett's three singles. He was backed by Chisholm (two singles) along with Josh Pridemore, Jonik and Forrest (a single apiece).

The second game saw Dryden bounce back with a 7-1 victory over Memphis.

Ferrett was the winning Dryden pitcher. He allowed two hits, struck out five and walked four over the six-inning distance.

Crean (two singles and a double) and Chisholm (three singles) proved Dryden's toughest outs. They were backed by Ferrett (a single and a triple), Pridemore (a single and a double) along with Lavalla, Forrest, Dunnigan and Lavalla.

With the results, Dryden now stands at 4-2 overall.
