TRI-CITY AREA — Imlay City made visiting Almont absorb an 11-0 loss in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity baseball game spanning five innings Monday afternoon.

With the outcome, Imlay City improves to 4-0 and 3-0.

In Monday's game, Imlay City used a five-run first inning, a one-run second and a five-run third to emerge victorious.

Mark Owen Jr. was Imlay City's pitcher of record. He threw a two-hitter while going the distance.

Blaine Goertler (two singles, a double and three runs scored) led Imlay City's offensive attack. He was given support in the hitting department by Justin Pitt (two singles, two runs and one RBI), Ryan Pitt (a single, a double and two RBI), Ryan Baker (two singles, two runs and one RBI), Devon Wiegers (a single, one run and one RBI), John Aversano (a two-run single) along with Nick Smith and Kevin Ahrens (a single apiece).

Mike Grundner and David Olson paced Almont with one hit each.
