CAPAC — Two police officers, including Capac's Chief Raymond Hawks, were shot in a confrontation with a a William G. Drive resident on Wednesday afternoon.

Both are expected to survive, but as of 5 p.m., the alleged shooter was still barricaded inside his home while special response team police units assembled.
According to St. Clair County Sheriff Dan Lane, negotiations had been initiated but there had been no contact with the man as of yet.
Lane said that Hawks had been attempting to pull the suspect over as part of trafffic stop for reckless driving. The man drove to his home, in the western part of the village limits, with Hawks following.
Hawks then called for assistance from the sheriff's department.
