IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City girls' soccer team kicked off their 2008 season with a 2-0 setback to visiting Lutheran North in a non-conference matchup last Thursday afternoon.

Both of Lutheran North's goals came during the opening half of play. There was 35:27 and 2:38, respectively, remaining when their shots connected.

Beth Caldwell and Brynn Bertram played well offensively for Imlay City, according to Spartan Coach Rick Lee.

Erin Booth and Taylor Lee provided Imlay City with solid defensive efforts.

Catie Withun and Alivia Hibbler shared the goalkeeping chores for Imlay City that afternoon. They combined for 20 saves.
