March 19, 2008 IMLAY TWP. — The Rule Rd. man who allegedly shot himself in the abdomen while negotiating with police has died from his wounds.
Sheriff Ron Kalanquin said 36 year-old Dan Livingston perished after paramedics rushed him from the scene of his standoff with police Wednesday morning around 10:30 a.m.
Livingston was apparently distraught over marital problems when he barricaded himself in an abandoned shed just down the road from his home, around 3 a.m.
The Oakland County Special Response Team was on scene about an hour later and attempted to negotiate with Livingston.
Around 10:30 a.m., police heard one gun shot and after securing the premises, found Livinston immobilized from the self-inflicted wound. Paramedics with the Lapeer County EMS rushed in to treat him and transported him to Lapeer Regional Hospital.
