IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City wrestling team handed visiting Cros-Lex a 46-24 setback in Blue Water Area Conference action last Wednesday.
Kevin Ahrens, Zach Burns, Kevin Shene and Josh Timmer led Imlay City with wins via the pinfall route. Ahrens took 1:45 to turn back Dalton Bishop at 125 pounds; Burns needed 4:23 to beat 135-pound foe Mack Suess; Shene required 59 seconds to upend 152-pound counterpart Robert Duff; and Timmer took 3:48 to conquer Eugene Tetrault at 285 pounds.
Tim Keillor (189) gave Imlay City a victory by void.
Mike Galanos provided Imlay City with a triumph by major decision. Galanos made Billy Jo Murray absorb a 12-0 loss at 112 pounds.
Victor Leon, Mike Guerrero, Mason Day and Ryan Baker added wins by decision to Imlay City's cause. Leon notched a 9-3 victory over 119-pound rival Luke Fabian; Guerrero registered a 7-4 triumph against Shane DuRussel at 130 pounds; Day claimed a 4-3 win over 140-pound rival Sam Fretenborough; and Baker nabbed a 6-3 victory against Zach Fabian at 160 pounds.
With the results, Imlay City now stands at 22-18 overall and 4-3 as far as BWAC clashes are concerned.
