Capac holds off Lutheran North, 58-55, in opener

CAPAC — Capac turned back Lutheran North, 58-55, in a non-league boys' basketball encounter on Tuesday, December 4.

With the final, Capac moves to 1-0 overall. Lutheran North slips to 0-1 thus far this season.

In Tuesday's encounter, Lutheran North grabbed a 15-9 edge after one quarter was complete.

Quarter number two saw Capac net 12 points and Lutheran North deposit 11 through the twines.

That cut Lutheran North's lead to 26-21 at the halftime break.

The third quarter would belong to Capac.

Bolstered by a 25-9 advantage there, Capac took a 46-35 lead at the 24-minute mark.

Lutheran North then bounced back with a 20-12 final quarter rally, only to fall by a 58-55 count when the final buzzer sounded.

Dan Jackson (13 points) led Capac that evening. The Chiefs also had A.J. Rank (12 points, including a pair of trifectas), Jon Carroll ( 11, with three triples), Joe Frazier (eight, including two trifectas), Joe Harvey and Kevin Bollaert (five each) along with Jon Botwin and Tino Siewert (two apiece).
