November 07, 2007 DRYDEN — The Dryden varsity volleyball team dropped a 15-25, 22-25, 24-26 verdict to Memphis in a Class C pre-district volleyball matchup last Thursday night at Brown City High School.
With the decision, Dryden sees a 13-17-5 season draw to a close.
For Dryden, Selina Paupert led the way with eight service points. The Cardinals also had Sarah DeCeuninck (seven points), Lynsey Marchwinski (four), Hillary Mason and April Warner (three each) along with Brittney Lewis (one) reach the scoring column.
Becky Miller and Mason (10 assists apiece) took turns springing Dryden's offense into motion.
DeCeuninck proved Dryden's top hittting threat, collecting 10 kills. She was backed by Courtney Buckner (seven kills), Warner (four), Cortney Lowney (three), Abby Warnars (two) along with Marchwinski, Miller and Paupert (one each).
Marchwinski paced Dryden's defense with 26 digs. The Cardinals also received digs courtesy of Warner (23), Lewis (nine), DeCeuninck (eight), Paupert (five), Warnars (three), Stacey Sheffer (two) plus Mandi Jones, Buckner and Miller (one apiece).
Buckner posted the highest Dryden solo block output, finishing with seven. DeCeuninck added two solo blocks to the Cardinals' cause.
