October 17, 2007 Three months have passed since the Capac Sesquicentennial Celebration, but the conversations that you have started with me and the phone calls I've received since that time tell me that you are still interested in our past.
The individuals who set our course and assured our future have passed from sight, but their spirit remains. It is our duty to remember them. In today's hectic world, we must hone onto the lessons taught by them.
On Saturday, Oct. 27, the Capac Historical Society is having its 23rd annual fundraising dinner at the meeting hall, 401 E. Kempf Court, adjacent to the museum.
It begins at 6 p.m. with a dinner by 'Portable Feast,' which is followed by 'Michigan Shadow Towns,' a 45 minute multi-media show and presentation featuring narrated past and present-day scenes from the long forgotten towns of Michigan with background music from the movie 'A River Runs Through It.'
Please support our museum. Tickets are just $14 per person and you can get them by calling Dan Bell at 395-7701 or me at 395-7948. Together, we can keep our treasured history alive.
