ALMONT — Host Almont made Richmond absorb a 5-3 loss in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys' tennis confrontation last Thursday afternoon.
In individual play, Andy Schoen secured a 6-0, 6-1 top flight victory over Vince Wagenknecht; Dan Miller fell by a 0-6, 1-6 count to Jesse DePauw at second singles; Ty Sutter registered a 6-0, 6-1 third flight triumph against Ross Stuart; and Matt Bulger claimed a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 win over Matt Pozolo at fourth singles.
As far as doubles action was concerned, Logan McDermott and Kyle Henry earned a 6-1, 6-0 top flight victory against Mike Cass and Joe Gurzick; Nate Zgnilec and Alex Schubert netted a 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) triumph over Josh Queen and Chris Schroudt at second doubles; Brett MacDonald and Brad Lowell fell by a 3-6, 4-6 third flight count to Dustin Dagastino and Ryan Bissell; plus Jamil Saba and Don Tobias dropped a 2-6, 4-6 verdict to Billy Balsamo and Chris Bissell at fourth doubles.
