IMLAY CITY — Imlay City's Marcia Van Dyk competed for the Red team which tied the White squad at three runs each during the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association Division 2 All-Star contest on Saturday, July 21.
The Michigan State University Softball Field, in East Lansing, is where the action unfolded.
Van Dyk lined up defensive in leftfield, earning six innings of playing time. There were no balls hit to her outfield location over the aforementioned stretch.
The Imlay City standout also batted twice, but did not collect a hit.
She was joined on the Red team by Caity Brouwer (Unity Christian), Morgan Heintz (Easton Rapids), Kellie McDonald (Algonac), Angela Leone (Otsego), Holly Lowe (Dowagiac Union), Carrie Davis (Lakeshore), Ashley Shay (Dearborn Divine Child), Kelsey Krych (Goodrich), Whitney DeYoung (Otsego), Amber Soodsma (Unity Christian), Sam Beaubien (Cheboygan), Candace Sequin (Linwood), Kristy Stratton (Paw Paw) and Lindsey Smith (Marysville).
Their team was coached by Ryan Rathje (Marysville) and Fred Marinucci (Divine Child).
