America, we have a problem

Tenacity, loyalty, pride and leadership.

These are qualities generally admired in any man or woman. Particularly among our leaders.

When these same qualities are taken to extremes, however, they can become detrimental—even dangerous.

When a man's tenacity turns to stubborn disregard for those who disagree with him; when loyalty and allegiance turn blind and reality unseen; when pride becomes boastful, arrogant and dismissive;

When he insists on going in one direction and refuses to consider another path, even when the multitudes view that path as wrong;

When he attempts to confuse, divide or lure us by appealing to or challenging our religious beliefs, sense of patriotism or personal lifestyles;

When time after time, he makes bad choices and refuses to alter course or listen to voices of reason;

When he exhibits self-righteousness to the point where he is incapable of admitting error or learning from it;

When his actions and policies alienate former allies and cause serious damage to time-honored trusts and relationships;

And when he continues to dig in and surround himself with people of similar ilk; then we have a serious problem.

And in this country, it's right at the top.
