June 13, 2007 CAPAC — Holly Meadows Golf Course was the site of three aces, all occurring on the par-3 11th encompassing 130 yards of territory, on Sunday.
It is believed to be the first time the feat has been accomplished since the course opened.
"There were a few times we had two aces on the same hole in one day," Holly Meadows Owner John Hollenbeck said. "To my knowledge, this is the first time we ever had three on the same hole in one day." he noted.
Chuck Underwood, of Port Huron, was the first to register a hole-in-one. He used a pitching wedge to accomplish the feat.
Dallas Hilton witnessed the ace.
Charlie Burden, of Capac, was next to connect. His club of choice was a 9-iron.
Cliff Lietz, Brian Murray and Mark Remenap were witnesses.
The third and final ace that day went to Chris Mayers, of Brockway. His wife, Melissa, witnessed the shot which was struck with a pitching wedge.
