IMLAY CITY — Imlay City turned back visiting Algonac, 10-6, in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity baseball matchup Monday afternoon.
With the decision, Imlay City moves to 11-12 and 7-4. Algonac slips to 3-15 and 2-7.
Ryan Pitt got the win for Imlay City in relief of Mark Owen Jr., who gave up no earned runs in four innings of work. Pitt gave up three hits, struck out five and walked none over his three-inning mound stint.
Neal Thompson (three singles, two runs and two RBI), Blaine Goertler (a single, a homer, three runs and one RBI), Eric Vasquez (two singles, two runs and two stolen bases), Devon Wiegers (two singles, an RBI and a run scored) paced Imlay City with multiple-hit performances. Pitt (an RBI-double and one run scored), Rodak (an RBI-single), Jim Hensley (a single and a run) and Ryan Baker (a double) also reached the hitting column.
