IMLAY CITY — A 34 year-old Flint man was arrested yesterday, May 9, following an undercover drug buy.
According to a press release from the Thumb Narcotics Unit (TNU), officers were investigating the man for allegedly selling crack cocaine in the Imlay City area and believed he was making multiple trips per day to meet buyers.
On Thursday, around noon, one of the Thumb Narcotics Unit's undercover detectives purchased a quarter ounce of crack cocaine from the suspect for $1,000.
"Upon departing the transaction, the suspect was stopped by Michigan State Police troopers as he drove from Newark Rd. into the Speedway gas station at M-53," according to the release.
"The suspect was placed under arrest and lodged at the Lapeer County jail for delivery of
cocaine, a 20-year felony."
Assisting TNU is the investigation were Michigan State Police and the Imlay City Police Department. The investigation continues and anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact TNU (810- 358-3029) or Imlay City Police (724-2345).
The Thumb Narcotics Unit is comprised of detectives from the Michigan State Police, Lapeer
County Sheriff's Department and U.S. Border Patrol.
