According to the Lapeer County Sheriff's Department, 52 year-old Michael Pitt was discovered Monday afternoon by a friend at Pitt's residence on Lum Road. It's believed that he was operating his Honda four wheeler on Sunday when it overturned while sliding through a curve.
The victim was not wearing a helmet at the time and was thrown from the ATV. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The sheriff's department said it's unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash and toxicology results are pending. The case remains under investigation.
