Bussone nets a spot on the All-State team

ALMONT — Almont senior standout Maria Bussone netted an appearance on the Division 3 All-State girls' tennis team which was announced recently.

This spring Bussone fashioned a 26-4 mark as Almont's number one singles player.

She claimed top finishes at the Blue Water Area Conference Tournament (where she was voted the league's MVP) and at a Division 3 regional; notched firsts at the Portland Invitational Quad, Almont Invitational Quad and Armada Invitational Quad; plus reached the round of 16 before seeing her tournament path halted at the Division 3 state finals in Novi.
