June 26, 2019TRI-CITY AREA — Capac's Aubree Smith, Madison Wheeler and Izabelle Amador helped the Gold team register a 9-6 triumph against the Blue squad, which saw Imlay City's Emily Orlowski participate, in the Blue Water Area Senior All-Star Softball Game on Tuesday, June 18.
Pine Grove Park, in Port Huron, hosted the diamond confrontation.
In Tuesday's confrontation, the Gold team jumped out to a 5-0 advantage after one inning was done.
Innings two and three saw the Blue squad counter with three total runs, while holding the Gold to two. That trimmed their deficit to 7-3 at the time.
The Gold squad bounced back with a 1-0 edge over the next four innings, widening the gap to 8-3.
The Blue team then put together a 3-1 rally over the last two innings, only to fall 9-6 when the final scores were added up.

Smith put up the top offensive numbers by a Tri-City player on the Gold team. She finished with an RB-triple, collected a single and scored once.
Defensively, she split her playing time between centerfield and rightfield.
For her performance, Smith was named the MVP of the contest.
Wheeler contributed a walk to the Gold team's cause.
She tested her defensive skills at shortstop and at second base during the matchup.
Amador was held without a hit in her two official plate appearances.
Defensively, Amador saw playing time at first base and catcher.
Izzy Feranti (Richmond), Lexi Hill (Armada), Elizabeth Westrick (Marine City), Rebecca Kiehler (Memphis), Erin Badke (Marine City), Emma Chaltron (Richmond), Madison Desloover (Yale), Sydne Kujawa (Armada), Kennedy Osterland (Marine City), Ashley Teltow (Richmond), Erin Davis (Marine City), Mallory Kean (Yale), Brittany Miller (Marine City) and Erin Shuboy (Richmond) joined the Capac trio on the winning Gold team side.
Orlowski batted three times for the Blue squad, going hitless.
She divided her playing time on defense between rightfield and leftfield.
Madison Adair (Port Huron Northern), Maeson Schlaud (North Branch), Taylor Calkins (Sandusky), Lexi Crenshaw (Brown City), Angel Pawlowski (Port Huron Northern), Emilee Bower (Cros-Lex), Danielle Franzel (Sandusky), Jolene Kruskie (Marysville), Haley Matthews (Cros-Lex), Zoe Matthews (Brown City), Alexis Wiltse (Brown City), Reese Ruhlman (North Branch), Riley Shagena (Port Huron Northern), Aubrie Card (St. Clair), Lydia Hiller (St. Clair) and Abbey Bullis (Peck) appeared on the roster of the Blue squad as well.
Imlay City's Bella Barker was also invited to participate on the Blue squad, but did not attend the contest.
