DRYDEN — Dryden trounced visiting Genesee, 65-27, in a non-league varsity boys' basketball meeting last Friday night.

With the decision, Dryden improves to 9-4 overall.

In Friday's meeting, Dryden jumped out to an 18-13 advantage after one quarter was done and increased it to 37-19 at the half.

When play resumed, Dryden continued to pull away. Thanks to a 13-6 third quarter edge, the Cardinals went up 50-25 with 24 minutes gone.

Dryden then outscored Genesee 15-2 the rest of the way, icing a 65-27 win.

Jack Kaplan (35 points, including five trifectas) proved Dryden's toughest player to stop. He was given assistance in the scoring department by Nate Schenkel (10 points), Brady Czape (six, featuring a trey), Coulter Waite (six), Ronny Hudson (five with a triple) plus Brendan Montague (a trifecta).
