IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City girls' cross country team claimed a second-place showing among Division 1 entries last Saturday

at the Genesee Invitational.

Jessica Denver and Mary Lengemann led Imlay City with top-five finishes that day. Denver took second, thanks to a 20:26.86 clocking, and Lengemann posted a 20:41.53 time en route to a third.

Sydney Kapushinski, 11th, 21:46.95; had the next best Imlay City showing. She was backed by McKinzie Winget, 14th, 22:08.44; and Sarah Hubbard, 16th, 22:15.72.

Kevin Kissane has been covering high school sports for the Tri-City Times since 1985. When not standing on a field or court with his camera and notepad, he enjoys golf, travel and family. Kevin is a 1980 graduate of Capac High School, and is also a grad of St. Clair Community College and earned a degree in journalism from Central Michigan University.
