ALMONT — Former Almont High School standout Hunter Brandt wrapped up a successful season with the St. Clair County Community College men's golf team recently.
He was especially effective when postseason play rolled around. One need only look at his statistics there for proof of that statement.
Brandt began that productive run May 7-8 when St. Clair County Community College teed it up at the Michigan Community College Athletic Association Eastern Conference Tournament.
The Elks Golf Club, in Port Huron, served as the tournament venue.
Brandt carded a 228 total over 54 holes, consisting of a first round 76, a second round 77 and a third round 75.
His effort paved the way to an eighth-place showing.
Next up for Brandt was the NJCAA Region XII Tournament. The event took place May 14-15 at Battle Creek's Bedford Valley Golf Club.
It was there he managed an opening round 74, a second round 77 and a third round of 73. That helped him advance to the next postseason level.
Brandt then competed May 21-24 at the NJCAA Tournament.
Glenn Lakes Golf Club, in Foley, Alabama, is where the action unfolded.
He posted a 313 total for the 72-hole event. paving the way to a 73rd-place showing among a field of 131 golfers.
Brandt is a 2016 graduate of Almont High School where he competed in the sport for four seasons.
