ALMONT — Almont outscored their opposition by a combined 22-2 count en route to a top finish last Friday at a Division 3 baseball district hosted by Memphis High School.

With the result, Almont (11-18) advances to this Saturday's regional at Brown City High School where it will face Capac. That semifinal battle is slated to get underway at noon.

"We got contributions from up and down the lineup," Almont Coach Shane Campbell said. "We also had very good pitching from our seniors and played solid defense," he noted.

"The boys put all three facets of the game together today. I knew we would be tough to beat it we could do that."
