TRI-CITY AREA — Almont handed host Imlay City a 68-45 setback in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys' basketball meeting last Saturday night.
With the decision, Almont improves to 10-4 and 6-3. Imlay City slips to 5-10 and 3-6.
In Saturday's meeting, Almont charged out to a 17-6 advantage after one quarter was over with.

Quarter two would see Almont amass 24 points and Imlay City net 18, staking the former to a 41-24 cushion at the halftime break.
When the action resumed, Almont continued to pull away. Aided by a 15-6 third quarter edge, the Raiders went up 56-30 with 24 minutes gone.
Imlay City then outscored Almont 15-12 the rest of the way, only to drop a 68-45 outcome at night's end.
Chase Kapron (16), Clay Schapman (12) and Drew Revoldt (11) led Almont with double digit point totals. The Raiders also had Rafael Farias and Austin Watt (nine points, featuring a trey, apiece), Cam Asaro (five, with a triple), Max Brombach (three), Jordan Bourdeau (two) and Garrett Ruhala (one) reach the scoring column.
Noah Galbraith (21 points, including a trifecta) paced Imlay City. He was backed by Hunter Medrano and Evan Schapman (six points each), Lonnie Wolford (five), Parker Lewis (a trey) plus Trevor Petri and Logan Wilson (two apiece).
