Almont goes to 6-0


Raiders roll to lopsided win over Algonac

ALMONT — Almont came out on top of a 51-22 verdict over visiting Algonac in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys' basketball meeting last Friday night.

With the decision, Almont moves to 6-0 and 2-0. Algonac slips to 0-5 and 0-2.

In Friday's matchup, Almont grabbed a 7-5 edge after one quarter was over with.

The next two quarters saw Almont generate 25 total points and Algonac manage 12, giving the former a 32-17 lead after 24 minutes.

Almont then outscored Algonac 19-5 the rest of the way, good for a 51-22 victory.

Ethan Hall led Almont with 17 points. His performance included three trifectas.

Almont had six other players reach the scoring column. Their ranks consisted of Clay Schapman (13 points), Austin Watt nine), Jordan Bourdeau and Chase Kapron (four apiece) plus Rafael Farias and Gabe Bourdeau (two each).
