CAPAC — Jakob Sawyers hit a put-back with 19 seconds remaining, lifting Capac to a dramatic 49-48 overtime victory over visiting Cros-Lex in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys' basketball battle last Friday night.
With the outcome, Capac now stands at 7-0 overall and 2-0 as far as BWAC clashes are concerned.
In Friday's battle, Cros-Lex took an 11-8 edge after one quarter was done.

Quarter two would see Cros-Lex generate eight points and Capac manage four, leaving the former with a 19-12 halftime lead to protect.
The next 16 minutes of hoops action would see Capac bounce back with a 33-26 edge, squaring the scoreboard count at 45 points apiece at the end end of regulation play.
Capac then outscored Cros-Lex 4-3 in overtime, leaving the floor with a 49-48 win to their credit.
Trevor Boers (20 points, including three trifectas) led Capac that evening. He was given assistance in the scoring department by Andrew Sams and Sawyers (seven, featuring a trey, each), Jordan Hellmuth (six), Jimmy Schroeder (four), Casey Bollaert (a triple) and Jake Witt (two).
