Reintjes ties for second at North Carolina meet

IMLAY CITY — TJ Reintjes, a 2017 graduate of Imlay City High School, turned in an impressive showing at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals Track Meet recently.

The meet was contested June 16-18 at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Competing in the Boys' Emerging Elite Division, Reintjes posted a clearance of 15 feet 3 1/2 inches. His effort paved the way to a five-way tie for second place.

Lilburn, Georgia's Brian Hauch was the event champion. Hauch cleared 15 feet 9 1/4 inches en route.

Kevin Kissane has been covering high school sports for the Tri-City Times since 1985. When not standing on a field or court with his camera and notepad, he enjoys golf, travel and family. Kevin is a 1980 graduate of Capac High School, and is also a grad of St. Clair Community College and earned a degree in journalism from Central Michigan University.
