DRYDEN — Dryden senior infielder Evan Pocius secured an appearance on the first team of the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association Division 4 All-State squad which was announced recently.

Last spring Pocius ranked third on the Dryden ballclub and out of those who attained Tri-City Times All-Area first team status with a .421 average.

He collected 25 singles, 13 doubles and two triples in 95 at bats.

Pocius also generated his team's highest run (50), stolen base (39) and walk (23) totals plus tied for his squad's fifth best RBI output (25).

He also completed his fourth season at the varsity level as an All-North Central Thumb League first team pick as well as an All-District and All-Region selection.

Pocius is joined on the squad by:

First team

Pitcher- Adam Wheaton, Hackett; Jack Morrow, Frankfort; Drew Long, Gaylord St. Mary's; Devin Riskey, USA; and Nolan Adams, Whiteford.

Infield- An Pham, Muskegon Catholic Central; Brandon Scheurer, St. Pats; Jared Jackson, Glen Lake; Jake Conklin, Holland Calvary; Alex Visser, Kalamazoo Christian; and Edward Hester, Shrine.

First base- Bobby Ahern, Muskegon Catholic Central; and Keaton Ashby, Hackett.

Outfield- Cole Charlesworth, Muskegon Catholic Central; Billy Koenig, Gaylord St. Mary's; Tom Peaslee, Shrine; Brenden Warner, Hackett; Kyle Seifert, River Valley; and Micah Wilson, Norway.

Catcher- Brent Zimmerman, Frankfort; Brendan Schrauben, St. Pats; and Mitch Kihm, Hackett.

Utility- Connor Mead, Parkway.

Coach of the Year- Bryan Scheurer, Portland St. Patrick.

Second team

Pitcher- Grant Dittmer, Bay City All Saints; Noah Goodman, St. Pats; Will Friend, Pellston; Nick Torsky, Gaylord St. Mary's; and Cole Decker, Mendon.

Infield- Zach Yarger, Potterville; Mason Pline, Fowler; Trevor Wregglesworth, Onaway; Josh Nowicki, Gaylord St. Mary's; Brennan Carr, Shrine; Nathan Vickery, Climax Scotts; and Derek Keatry, Springport.

First base- Cam Eckert, Shrine; and Cross DeLau, Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart.

Outfield- Paul Miklovic, USA; Blake Borck, Hudson; Zack Tullis, Climax Scotts; and Griffin Kelly, Frankfort.

Catcher- Andrew Radke, Rogers City; Jacob Penny, Glen Lake; and Anthony Sweeney, Ubly.

Utility-  Brock Franklin, Lincoln Alcona.
