CAPAC — Capac outlasted host Cass City, 66-57, in a non-conference varsity boys' basketball game that took two overtimes to determine a victor last Wednesday night.
With the result, Capac improves to 5-9 overall.
In Wednesday's game, Capac took a 10-8 edge after one quarter was complete.
Quarter two saw Cass City generate eight points and Capac hit for six, making it a 16-16 contest at the halftime break.
When the action resumed, Capac struck with a 10-9 third quarter edge. That left Capac up by a narrow 26-25 count with 24 minutes gone.
Cass City then amassed 23 points and Capac produced 22 during quarter four, making it 48-48 at the completion of regulation play.
The initial overtime saw Capac hit for five points as did Cass City, pushing the scoreboard count to 53-53 at the time.
Capac then outscored Cass City 13-4 during overtime number two, claiming a 66-57 win at their expense.
Andrew Sams paced Capac with 24 points, including two field goals of the three-point variety. Jimmy Schroeder (17 points, featuring a trey), Jordan Hellmuth (10, with a triple) and Trevor Boers (10) hit for double figures as well. Jacob Parski added five points to the Chiefs' cause.
