ALMONT — Almont moves in to a share of the Blue Water Area Conference's top spot along with Richmond, accomplishing the feat with a convincing 60-21 victory over visiting Algonac in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys' basketball battle last Friday night.
With the final, Almont improves to 10-3 and 7-1. Algonac slips to 2-11 and 1-7.
In Friday's meeting, Almont bolted out to a 18-4 advantage after one quarter was done.
The middle two quarters saw Almont deposit 31 total points through the twines, while Algonac managed 14. That left them up by a commanding 49-18 cushion with 24 minutes gone.
Almont then outscored Algonac 11-3 the rest of the way, closing out a 60-21 victory.
Ethan Hall (22 points, including three trifectas) led Almont that evening. He was given assistance in the scoring department by Zach Revoldt, Chase Kapron and Drew Revoldt (seven points apiece), Austin Watt (five, featuring a trey), Jordan Bourdeau (five), Cade Tank (four), Kevin Heim (two) and Garrett Ruhala (one).
