April 11, 2018IMLAY CITY/LUM — The Imlay City Christian School will host its 8th Annual Benefit Auction Saturday, April 21 at Castle Creek Golf Club.
The 2018 "Let's Raise It" school fundraiser starts at 4 p.m. with a silent auction, followed by dinner from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The popular live auction begins at 6 p.m.
Rowley's Auction Services will serve as the auctioneer.
Event coordinators note that all proceeds from the auction directly support Christian education and local families who choose to make such an education a priority.
The money is used to fund field trips, for classroom expenses, building maintenance and various programs to benefit ICCS students in Junior Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Listed among the live and silent auction items going up for bids are event tickets, local goods, home decor, handmade items, sports memorabilia, gift baskets, getaway trips to Wisconsin Dells, Boyne Mountain, Charleston, S.C. and much more.
Tickets for the "Let's Raise It" fundraiser are $25 apiece in advance or $30 at the door.
Christian School Principal Karen Hibbler said last year's auction raised $28,000, and with the large number of donations coming in, she hopes to meet or exceed that amount.
"Everything raised directly benefits our students and families," said Hibbler. "This event enables us to continue our established programming and to create new curriculum options to meet the needs of students for their future vocations."
Castle Creek Golf Club is located at 5191 Lum Road in Lum.
Those unable to attend the fundraiser but who wish to make a donation, may drop checks off at the school or mail to Imlay City Christian School, 7197 E. Imlay City Rd., Imlay City, MI 48444.
