TRI-CITY AREA — There's no lack of holiday activities to partake in this week. Starting Friday and lasting through the weekend, there are parades, visits with Santa and cookies sales on tap in the Tri-City area.

In Imlay City, start off Friday's festivities with a ceremonial tree lighting, 'Light Up Imlay City' at the corner of Third and Main streets, just prior to the holiday parade at 6 p.m.

Santa Claus will make his grand entry into Imlay City on Friday, return to Almont and Dryden on Saturday and arrive in Capac on Sunday.
Santa will make his appearance for the parade which will wind down Third St. from the Lamb-Steele Building, north of Almont Ave., east on Fourth St. and then south on Main St. Afterwards, he'll greet children at the caboose at the Historical Museum.

The events coincide with the chamber's Customer Appreciation Day when merchants will be offering special sales to thank their patrons.

In Almont, the DDA-sponsored Holly Day Light Parade will brighten the streets on Saturday starting around 7 p.m., traveling from Centennial to Stone St. along Van Dyke. Following the parade, Santa will stop into the DDA offices, 134 N. Van Dyke, to hear childrens' wishes. Free Polaroid photos will be taken.
