Capac has six place winners at the Yale Bologna 5K Road Race

TRI-CITY AREA — Capac registered six medal-winning performances last Saturday morning at the Bologna Festival 5K Run in Yale.

Jake Hoover had the swiftest outing among the Capac contingent on hand, pulling up second overall and among male 15-19 age group participants. It took him 17:47 to cover the territory.

Josh Murphy was the next Capac competitor to cross the finish-line, ranking 19th overall and 10th among male 15-19 age group entries. His clocking was not available.

Lindsey Murphy posted the third swiftest Capac outing, needing 20:51 to accomplish the feat. That helped her pace the female 20-24 age group, earn a third among all female contestants and wind up 24th overall.

Melissa Sawicki had the next best Capac performance, stopping the watch at 20:56. Sawicki took second among female 15-19 age group participants, fourth out of all female entries and 27th overall.

Kylie Hill furnished the fifth swiftest Capac effort, requiring 25:20 to cover the distance. Hill ranked 11th among female 15-19 age group entries, 27th out of all female participants and 93rd overall.

Jane Smith completed the list of Capac entries who excelled at the event, thanks to a time of 25:34. That left her third among female 40-44 age group entries, 30th out of all female participants and 99th overall.

Two other competitors with ties to The Tri-City Area tested their endurance skills that day.

Henry Osier, of Attica, set the pace in the male 55-59 age group on the strength of a 20:52 clocking. Osier's effort left him 25th overall.

Matt Schwartzkopf, an Almont High School graduate, also excelled.

Competing in the male 25-29 age group, Schwartzkopf set the pace with a 22:55 time. He also ranked 52nd overall.
